​​Château Saint Antoine has been a family property for several centuries.

It was in 1830, that the family built the building, emblem of the property, the design of the castle on the label coming from the architect’s plan of the time.

It is at the beginning of XXth century that the vine made its apearance there, first white type of vines then end 1970 totally converted into red type of vines : merlot, cabernet franc and some cabernet sauvignon.

Each generation has contributed its know-how in the evolution of the estate by enriching the knowledge of its terroir transmitted from generations to generations.

Today, Vanessa, 5th generation who having grown up there, oenologist of the estate since 2004, and her husband, Eddy, are together entering a new page in its history.

Area under production :  74 ha

 

Grape varieties : 65 % Merlot

                               35 % Cabernet Franc

 

Average age : 40 years

 

Type of soil : clay and limestone on the highlands of the «Entre-deux-Mers», right bank of Bordeaux

 

Wine growing : mechanical cultivation

 

Vinification : stainless steel vat, cold maceration, soft extraction process

 

Aging : 16 month minimum to have a natural stabilization of the wine, conservation of carbon dioxide naturally produced during fermentation to promote the preservation of naturals aromas, degassing sweet is carried out at the end of ageing.

Dégustation

This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc brings to the wine beautiful red fruits on the attack with a sustained palate with a finesse finish.

Ideal companion for any convivial occasion, it goes perfectly with charcuterie, grilled meats, a roasted chicken, a pasta dish or even a cheese platter preferring cheeses based on cow’s milk.
